The story follows two girls at an Edwardian boarding school as they try to solve the murder of their science teacher.

Series Logo Design

The series logo is inspired by the classic mystery motif with character details etched into the handle. An alternative Logo idea focussed in on the setting of the bording school and the idea that it is training the Girl’s how to be ladylike and therefore the Teacup idea subverts this through the stacking, chips and flowing blood.

Within each of the proposed logos are small details and refences to the book. The Magnifying Glass is Property of the School - Deepdean - as well as having the Detective Society name carved into the handle. The teacup patterns hold many easter eggs. The blue cup pattern is made up of Atom symbols, the yellow cup denotes the year the book is set and the flowers on the green cup are Daisies and Witch Hazels which are the names of the main characters.
